As part of the 2009 White Night festival, Brighton animators looked to the future.
During the night of Saturday 24th October, as part of the 2009 White Night festival, animations made by BANG members were projected directly onto Brighton’s Unitarian Church.
The theme of the festival was FORTUNE and the Brighton Animators’ Networking Group looked to the future for inspiration. The projected films were responses to an open brief that asked animators: How do you imagine what is to come? What does the future mean to you?
All interpretations and styles of animation were welcome.
In total, 42 site-specific animated films were created for the BANG Future Machine projection event & beamed on to the facade of the Brighton Unitarian Church. Videos of the projections can be seen below.
BANG also ran two animation workshops on the night – a light drawing animation workshop using LED torches & glow sticks in the Pavilion Gardens and a Life Drawing for Animators workshop led by local artist, Jake Spicer at Komedia.
